My Story
From Jamaica to New York
I was born in Jamaica and came to the United States at thirteen. For years, I carried experiences I didn’t yet have words for. Writing became the place where I could tell the truth, reclaim my voice, and turn survival into something that could reach someone else.
Why I Write
My books are rooted in honesty, healing, family, and becoming. Through memoir, fiction, and children’s stories, I write for readers who have ever felt unseen, unheard, or unchosen—and to remind them that their story still has value.
